Foxx Report

Let me ask you a serious question, and one that I firmly believe every American should be thinking about: Is Washington really acting in the best interests of the American people, and putting their priorities first? As of last week, our country jumped headfirst into a recession that is being driven by reckless spending sprees and irresponsible policies. Right now, Congress needs a heavy dose of common sense that has been sorely absent for too long. We cannot afford to keep trudging down the path to ruin.

Yet, Washington Democrats are now moving forward with a gargantuan reconciliation package that will worsen the inflation catastrophe and crush hardworking taxpayers and families even further. I’m livid that Congress would even consider taking up more reckless spending at a time like this and should it come to the floor of the House, I’ll be first in line to vote “NO”. This socialist reconciliation package would:

  • Raise taxes on small business owners and entrepreneurs.
  • Allow the IRS to hire 87,000 new agents.
  • Implement a top-down price control scheme for prescription drugs.
  • Spend $369 billion in “Green New Deal” initiatives.
  • Extend Obamacare subsidies that benefit the wealthy.

Put this sham package aside for a second and consider what families and hardworking taxpayers are already facing. The average American households will shell out an extra $6,000 this year due to the cost of goods and services skyrocketing out of control. Families will spend on average over $600 per student this year on back-to-school shopping – an increase of 30% since 2019. The average American worker has seen $3,000 disappear from their annual incomes due to inflation. And, according to a recent poll from Fox News, a shocking 75% of Americans reported experiencing hardship because of inflation.

Here’s the bottom line: Instead of addressing the root cause of inflation, out-of-control government spending, Washington Democrats are now pushing for a revived 'Build Back Broke’ agenda that will bankrupt our country even further. I’ll continue to oppose this radical agenda to protect you from footing the bill for the umpteenth time.

A $311 BILLION Budget Error

Last Friday, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) released a report which found the Department of Education underestimated the cost of student loans by billions of dollars. For decades, the Department of Education has significantly underestimated the true cost of the Direct Loan program. This report from GAO shows that the Department’s budget was off by more than $300 billion—all of which will be paid for by hardworking American taxpayers. On top of that, GAO’s analysis doesn’t include the cost of Biden’s recent actions—such as the most recent $85 billion in new higher education regulations or his $145 billion Public Service Loan Forgiveness waiver. Nor do the costs include the rumored $10,000 loan forgiveness proposal, which would cost an estimated additional $250 billion.

This GAO report is only the latest evidence that, at best, Biden’s Department of Education doesn’t have a clue about the real harm of its policies; at worst, the political appointees there simply don’t care and are unwilling to disclose the true costs to the American public.

Time to Stand for Parental Rights

Many school districts across the nation are actively resisting curriculum transparency measures and bending over backward to hide the truth about what students are being taught. As parents sound the alarm on critical race theory and gender politics in the classroom, school administrators are doing everything in their power to gaslight them—telling them that these topics aren’t being taught and calling parents who question them racist or transphobic. Safeguarding parental rights is the line drawn in the sand. If we lose this battle, the consequences for individual liberty will be wide ranging and devastating.
