The North Carolina Attorney General’s office recently published guidance on how to avoid a new wave of online scams that involve the coronavirus. With heightened public and media attention, scammers are creating fake websites, emails, text messages, and social media posts intended to target vulnerable online users.

When it comes to your online safety, the best defense is always a good offense. Remember to seek credible sources of information rather than clicking on random pop-ups, emails, or websites that promote enticing material or claim to sell products that cure coronavirus. Online diligence is critical to protecting yourself and your family.

If you have been contacted by a company and you are unsure of its credibility or authenticity or if you believe that you have been victim of a scam, contact the North Carolina consumer hotline at 1-877-5-NO-SCAM or (919) 716-6000.

Threats To Our National Security

After the United States took decisive action against Qassem Soleimani in January, Nancy Pelosi rushed to vote on a resolution that would constrict President Trump’s ability to defend the United States from Iran’s dangerous political regime. This Wednesday, House Democrats forced yet another vote on a misguided resolution intended to undermine President Trump’s ability to defend the United States against Iran.

It’s no surprise that House Democrats would rather turn their gaze to scoring political points rather than respect the authority given to the President under Article II of the Constitution. Their presumption that the United States is currently at war with Iran is foolhardy.

Previous Administrations have been granted necessary flexibility to exercise their Article II constitutional authority and defend the United States. President Trump should be no different.
