New Scam Alert
As COVID-19 continues to impact the United States, scammers are conducting new, subversive operations that intend to divide the American people. This week, the National Security Agency addressed false rumors of a “national quarantine” that were perpetuated by foreign agents via text messages. As I’ve discussed with you in previous newsletters, it’s imperative that all of us remain attuned to these growing threats.
I strongly encourage you to interact with verified online resources such as CDC.gov, NCDHHS.gov, and Travel.State.Gov, on a regular basis whenever you have questions or need additional information on how to protect yourself and your loved ones. Do not answer unsolicited phone calls, emails, or text messages that claim to provide cures for COVID-19 or make unsubstantiated claims about actions taken by local, state, or federal level agencies.
