The alliance between the United States and the State of Israel should always remain ironclad. In his address to the joint meeting of Congress on Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressed the importance of this longstanding alliance:

“We meet today at a crossroads of history. Our world is in upheaval. In the Middle East, Iran’s axis of terror confronts America, Israel and our Arab friends. This is not a clash of civilizations. It’s a clash between barbarism and civilization. It’s a clash between those who glorify death and those who sanctify life. For the forces of civilization to triumph, America and Israel must stand together. Because when we stand together, something very simple happens. We win. They lose.”

I wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment. The Prime Minister also laid out the clearest case yet as to why it’s vital to root out antisemitism here in America: not only is it a matter of right versus wrong, but it also emboldens our adversaries. Look at another short excerpt from his speech:

“Whenever and wherever we see the scourge of antisemitism, we must unequivocally condemn it and resolutely fight it, without exception. And don’t be fooled when the blood libels against the Jewish State come from people who wear fancy silk robes and speak in lofty tones about law and Justice.”

As you know, I’ve been leading the charge as Chairwoman of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce to combat the scourge of antisemitism that continues to fester across the nation. In the struggle for freedom and democracy against antisemitism and terror, the Committee on Education and the Workforce is proud to do its part. We’ve held countless hearings exposing the roots of antisemitism on the home front and will continue to do so. The success of this vital mission will help decide whether America remains safe for the Jewish people. As Ronald Reagan once said: ‘Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction’ – his words ring especially true today.

Exposing The Truth

As you’ll remember from my newsletter last week, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability held a hearing on Monday titled “Oversight of the U.S. Secret Service and the Attempted Assassination of President Donald J. Trump”. Former United States Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle appeared before the Committee – and I came with pointed questions that the American people deserve answers to. Though former Cheatle resigned the day after this hearing took place, this issue should not be swept under the rug and forgotten. There should be a thorough investigation – with no stone left unturned – of the incident that took place on July 13th, and accountability should not be forsaken in doing so.

New Scam Alert

Texting scams pose a serious threat to your personal, sensitive information – and you may have come across them before. Recently, the United States Postal Service (USPS) highlighted a new scam involving fraudulent text messages urging recipients to click a random website link to address an alleged delivery issue with a package. From stealing financial information to social security numbers, usernames to passwords, scammers use these fraudulent texts to achieve multiple ends. It is important to note that the USPS will never send you unsolicited text messages related to any packages that are set to be delivered to you.
