Do you remember when people felt positively about America? When incomes were growing, and budgets were not being stretched as thin as a piece of paper? When retirement savings were healthy? When inflation was nonexistent and not gnawing at our ankles? Before President Biden took office, and before his failed policies ransacked the entire country, this was the reality that we were fortunate to wake up to every morning – and one that we can still return to.

America has shifted 180 degrees over the past year and a half. The circumstances we face now make for a perfect case study as to why one-party rule in Washington has failed the American people. Slapping a band-aid on the catastrophes plaguing the country and calling it a day will not work – prescription-strength common sense and real solutions are required to do the job. Republicans stand ready to deliver.

The final pillar of our Commitment to America is to rebuild an economy that is strong. That starts with fighting inflation and lowering the cost of living. Wasteful spending that is raising the prices of gas, groceries, housing, and growing the national debt by leaps and bounds must be nipped in the bud. While doing so, take-home pay should be increased, good-paying jobs should be created, and much-needed stability should be brought to the economy through pro-growth tax and deregulatory policies.

Remember the energy freedom that everyone in America experienced under President Trump? Low gas prices? Being able to heat your home in winter without paying a fortune? So, how do we return to that? First, we maximize the production of reliable, American-made energy. Then, we cut the permitting process time in half to reduce reliance on foreign countries, prevent rolling blackouts, and lower the cost of gas and utilities. Imagine the profound level of relief that will be brought to families across the country.

Raising America’s competitiveness on the world stage is also a key priority. We must strengthen our supply chain, expand manufacturing right here in America, and enhance cyber resiliency to remain competitive. The imperatives outlined in our Commitment to America are simple, and they’re supported by strong conservative principles that will get our country out of the rut that it has been cast into. It’s time that one-party rule is put out to pasture and America moves in the right direction.

The Left Has Failed Students

On Monday, the latest edition of the Nation’s Report Card was released, and its findings were particularly damning. Since 2019, fourth and eighth grade math scores have dropped five and eight points respectively. These students have fallen behind due to no fault of their own. This unprecedented learning loss is causing enormous damage to the academic progress and emotional wellbeing of students and will continue to do so unless we take bold action to reform our education system. Our students were failed by an education bureaucracy that insisted on shutting them out of the classroom, even after the evidence proved it was safe for them to return.
