We can all agree that the most basic function of our government is to provide safety and security to the American people. But what we see happening today, whether it be in our own communities or on the news, is the complete opposite. So many patriots like you are deeply concerned about the road that our magnificent Republic is heading down. I too am deeply concerned, and I’m downright enraged that one-party rule in Washington has led us to this point. That’s why I’m taking a stand alongside my Republican colleagues in the People’s House to put the safety and security of the American people first.

It’s time to shed light on the facts. Under President Biden more than 3.5 million illegal aliens have crossed the southern border. There are now close to one million known “got-aways” – people who have evaded Border Patrol agents and are now running loose in our country. Over 60 individuals on the terrorist watch list have attempted to cross the southern border and have been apprehended. And one of the most important facts that I continue to turn people’s attention to is that individuals from 160 different countries are trying to gain entrance into the United States through the southern border – they are not solely from South America.

What about the rising wave of crime in cities throughout the country? What about the new threats that the men and women of law enforcement are facing in the line of duty? In 2021, there was a 20-year high of intentional killings of law enforcement officers. That same year, the murder rate was sitting at a 20-year high as well. As a direct result of the abhorrent “Defund the Police” efforts, these men and women are facing the toughest working conditions in years – and something must change before it’s too late.

These threats did not appear out of thin air – they were borne through, and amplified by, the irresponsible policies made possible by one-party rule in Washington. Republicans have created a plan, our Commitment to America, that’s built by policies that will create a nation that is safe. While Washington Democrats continue to let catastrophes plague the country, we’re putting solutions on the table to enhance public safety, bolster border security, and reinforce national security. It’s what the American people demand, and on day one, we not hesitate to act.

My Recent Interview

Recently, I joined Sean Duffy on Fox Business to discuss ACT college admission scores dropping to their lowest level since 1991. What many may not know is that 42 percent of this year’s graduating class that took the ACT test did not meet the ACT’s “college readiness benchmarks” in English, reading, math, and science. It’s evident that the learning loss students endured because of forced school closures created an education nightmare. Pandemic policies have failed students, and Republicans stand ready to deliver viable solutions to fix this catastrophe.
