It was another busy week in the People’s House, and our Republican majority continued to deliver win after win for the American people. Thus far this Congress, we’ve made significant progress in reversing the extreme damage we as a nation endured under the previous administration and setting it on a more sustainable, positive track under the Trump administration. As you may recall, I highlighted that progress to you in last week’s newsletter. This week, we added to that progress by passing a slate of very important pieces of legislation. Let’s discuss.
Following Monday’s Rules Committee meeting, the House passed several bills that roll back onerous Biden-era regulations, combat fraud head-on, and impose tougher sanctions on our nation’s adversaries. Here’s the full list of bills that I worked to advance out of the Rules Committee, and that we passed when they came for a vote on the House floor:
H.J. Res. 210 – Providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Environmental Protection Agency relating to "California State Nonroad Engine Pollution Control Standards; Ocean-Going Vessels At-Berth; Notice of Decision".
H.J. Res. 213 – Providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule issued by the Environmental Protection Agency relating to the "California State Nonroad Engine Pollution Control Standards; Commercial Harbor Craft Regulations; Notice of Decision".
H.R. 9576 – National Fraud Enforcement Division Act of 2026
H.R. 10326 – Preventing Rip-offs and Obtaining Oversight of Funds Act
Senate amendments to H.R. 5334 – Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026
I am very proud to have led these bills through the Rules Committee and to the House floor for a full vote. There’s more work to be done, and I’ll continue to roll up my sleeves and use as much elbow grease as is necessary to get the job done.
My Latest Interview
Recently, I was delighted to join Scott Jennings on his podcast, The Scott Jennings Show, to talk about fraud within the United States Postal Service (USPS) as well as the recent passage of my bill, the Protect Economic and Academic Freedom Act. In past newsletters, I’ve detailed to you my thoughts on the current state of the USPS. I’ve heard from so many people across the 5th District about this issue, and I’m continuing to work as hard as I can to hold those within the USPS accountable for their lack of accountability and commitment to quality customer service. I will continue to call attention to this issue and work as hard as I can to ensure USPS provides the American People with the level of service they need and deserve.

A Real Solution
Robocalls continue to intrude upon the lives of countless North Carolinians and Americans – it’s an utter nuisance and an intrusion into our lives. These calls disrupt some of the most important times of the day like family dinners and bedtimes. I have a solution to this problem that Congress should take up immediately. Last week, I reintroduced my bill, the Robo Cop Act, that would expand the types of unsolicited calls restricted by the national “Do Not Call Registry to include political robocalls, giving the American people the opportunity to opt-out of the bothersome campaign-season interruption.
