You may recall that in July of this year, I called your attention to a resource for American families that was made possible through the Working Families Tax Cuts: Trump Investment Accounts. These accounts are tax-advantaged investment accounts for U.S. citizens under the age of 18. With this early leg up, American families can help plan and start their children’s financial future. There was some very positive news regarding these savings accounts that you should know about.

The U.S. Treasury recently announced that every eligible child under the age of 18 with a valid Social Security number now has a Trump Account. This means that roughly 70 million accounts have been created thus far. Indeed, this is terrific news. As a reminder, here are some facts from the White House:

• These accounts are entirely FREE to set up and are available for all U.S. children who have a valid social security number and are under the age of 18.
• Trump Investment Accounts feature a pilot program contribution of $1,000 for children born between Jan. 1, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2028.
• Over 50 companies have committed to offering Trump Investment Account contributions to their employees’ children.
• 86% of new Trump Investment Accounts are linked to families that are earning less than $200,000 annually.
• Parents have the opportunity to contribute $5,000 a year to these accounts, and employers can contribute up to $2,500 per year, subject to the $5,000 per year contribution limit.
• With the new Trump Investment Accounts app, parents can monitor their child’s balance to track their contributions grow over time.

The Working Families Tax Cuts continue to deliver positive results for Americans and their families across the nation – the numbers do not lie. I am very pleased to see the positive impact that our commonsense policies continue to make every day. As I said before, these are the policies that help the American people grow, thrive, and flourish.

My Latest Op-Ed

Recently, I penned a new op-ed in the Greensboro News & Record that discusses congress’ unified oversight efforts in the investigation of Jeffrey Epstein. These efforts have been consistent throughout the 119th Congress and began via a resolution that formalized the federal government’s investigation into Epstein and his associates that I led through the House Rules Committee. What’s more, I’ve joined with my colleagues, both Republican and Democrat, in cosponsoring legislation to protect survivors and to combat sex trafficking. Indeed, no stone is being left unturned, and the facts confirm this.

New Scam Alert

The Watauga County Sheriff’s Office recently released a list of the top 10 scams that are occurring right now in Watauga County. It’s important to note that many of the scams outlined in this list are also occurring across North Carolina as well. From employment scams to rental property scams, texting scams to jury duty scams, bad actors continue to come up with covert ways to steal your personal, sensitive information. It is of paramount importance that you are equipped with the facts so that you and those you love can remain protected and diligent.
