Americans are rightfully incensed when their hard-earned tax dollars are siphoned away by fraud. Here are a few examples of massive fraud schemes that have been uncovered thanks to Republican efforts:

Stealing from Hungry Children: Fraudsters stole roughly $250 million meant to feed needy children through fake meal sites and fabricated records. The money funded luxury cars, jewelry, real estate, and international travel.

Billions in Fake Health Care Claims: The DOJ's 2026 fraud takedown charged 455 defendants in schemes involving more than $6.5 billion in false claims.

Obamacare - Taxpayer-Funded Fraud: CMS canceled 315,000 unauthorized enrollments and is expected to recover $2.2 billion in taxpayer-funded subsidies.

Ghost Students Stealing Financial Aid: More than $350 million in fraudulent student aid from stolen and fake identities has been uncovered since 2019.

Pandemic Relief Loan Fraud: The SBA and IRS uncovered discrepancies of nearly $100 billion in COVID-relief loans involving inflated payrolls, fake employees, and falsified business records.

Federal Contractors Defrauding Taxpayers: The Trump Administration uncovered more than $13 billion in suspected fraud involving federal contractors since March 2026.

This kind of brazen fraud did not run rampant by accident – Democrats chose to allow basic, commonsense oversight to fail. And who bore the brunt of the consequences caused by this? The American people were the ones who suffered. Our Republican majorities are restoring accountability, confronting fraud, and putting the American people first.

According to a new report from the FBI, in 2025, North Carolinians lost over $431 million to cybercrime. That’s a $107 million increase compared to 2024. Here are a few important tips to help protect yourself and your loved ones from scammers who are out to steal your hard-earned money:

Verify unexpected or unusual messages: Confirm the authenticity of the message by contacting the sender via another method.

Be careful with links: Only open links sent to you by trusted sources.

 Learn how to spot fakes: Check the source before sharing a video or photo.

 Protect your personal information: Use strong passwords and use multifactor authentication.

Update devices: Turn on automatic updates for your devices and software.
