The Medicare open-enrollment period is less than a week away! Make sure you or your family members are ready to sign up for a 2020 plan or make changes to existing coverage before December 17.
Also, be aware of Medicare scams. A new scam was recently uncovered where fraudulent doctors, telemarketers and DNA testing labs preyed on Medicare beneficiaries by offering free DNA tests to trace genetic markers for disease. Beneficiaries’ Medicare information was at risk in the hands of the scammers who used it to bill Medicare in the names of their victims. Stay updated about Medicare scams and learn to recognize signs of fraud with Senior Medicare Patrol.
The House of Representatives returns to DC next week to debate legislation pertaining to the rules and regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission. The House will take up the SEC Disclosure Effectiveness Testing Act and the Outsourcing Accountability Act, and I look forward to these debates. Have a blessed weekend.
