For over a year, a hidden tax has been hitting all Americans in their wallets, and it has only grown worse. That hidden tax is called inflation, and it is not showing any signs of slowing down any time soon. In January, we saw inflation hit a fresh 40-year high, and the commodities that commonly line our shopping carts have gotten more expensive as of late. In February, it was a very different and concerning story.
Last month, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by almost one percent to an annual rate of 7.9%. Here are two numbers you should pay attention to: .8% and 2.6%. Real average hourly earnings decreased 0.8% from January to February. Additionally, real average hourly earnings decreased 2.6%, seasonally adjusted, from February 2021 to February 2022. This means that Americans are now taking pay cuts due to inflation.
President Biden’s inflation catastrophe is as clear as day. However, there are many pundits and talking heads in the mainstream media who won’t admit that the wallets of everyday Americans have taken a hit. I have the facts that will clear up any confusion for them:
Yes, this is a small subset of the commodities that have gone up in price, and I can assure you that the list is incredibly long. It’s simple: Instead of addressing the root cause of inflation, out-of-control government spending, President Biden and House Democrats continue to push their Far-Left Socialist agenda, which will only hurt America even more. These economic consequences we are facing should no longer be called a crisis, but rather a catastrophe.
The American Rescue Sham
Last Friday was the one-year anniversary of the so-called American Rescue Plan that hit hardworking taxpayers just like you with a $1.9 trillion bill. If you remember, this bill included a $500 billion bailout to state and local governments, and only nine percent of this bill was used to combat the COVID-19 virus – a fact that Washington Democrats still refuse to acknowledge. House Budget Committee Ranking Member Jason Smith (R-MO) released a fact sheet on ARP that details how this spending scheme was purely a partisan messaging tool rather than a substantive piece of legislation that helped all Americans.

President Zelenskyy’s Address To Congress
On Wednesday, President Zelenskyy of Ukraine addressed Congress via video conference as his country continues to face an onslaught from Russia and Vladimir Putin. I highly encourage you to watch his address in its entirety. His words were both solemn and powerful. The people of Ukraine are turning to America in their hour of need – and we must answer their call without hesitation. America must act swiftly and decisively in providing Ukraine with lethal aid and humanitarian support. Last week, I voted with my colleagues to increase military assistance to Ukraine, but the Biden Administration continues to linger in providing the MiGs, sanctions, and decisiveness to meet Zelenskyy’s needs. We must act now to bring Vladimir Putin’s regime to its knees.
