Foxx Report

On Monday, President Biden released his budget for fiscal year 2023, and it confirmed what we have known all along: he does not have the slightest clue what fiscal responsibility means. The pressure that American families are feeling right now from the gas pump to the grocery store has been ignored by President Biden for far too long. His misguided budget sends a clear message that he has learned nothing over the past year. Let’s turn to the facts.

Right now, families are facing a $3,500 yearly inflation tax, but President Biden wants to spend a whopping $73 trillion over the next decade – a 66% increase over the previous ten years. What effect do you think this spending scheme will have on the inflation itch that has ravaged our country? Over the next five years, inflation rates would increase by 2.8%. In fact, this scheme would be the highest sustained government spending endeavor in American history. Again, this budget does not contain a shred of fiscal responsibility.

As you may have guessed by now, there are new tax increases. Over the next decade under this budget, there will be $58 trillion in total taxes. What does this mean for small businesses, job creators and American families? Job creators will be slammed with $1.7 trillion in new taxes. Families and small businesses will face $800 billion in new taxes. Even families that have lost loved ones will face a $48 billion death tax.

Of course, we must look at the impacts on the national debt. By the year 2032, the national debt would rise to over $45 trillion, and the average annual deficit would be $1.4 trillion – the highest sustained level of deficits in American history. I highly encourage you to read the comprehensive analysis of President Biden’s budget that was put together by the Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, Jason Smith (R-MO). There are a great many details in that document that help underscore why President Biden’s budget is a bad deal for our great country.

You deserve to know what this administration does not want exposed to the American people.

My Latest Op-Ed

For over a year, Americans have been asking one simple question that has gone unanswered: Why does the Biden Administration hate energy freedom in America? It’s a legitimate concern, and one that will continue to grow in the coming days and weeks. However, we’re now seeing an answer come in a form that is purely unpalatable: a nuclear deal with Iran. This administration’s ongoing negotiations to revive the Iran deal, and reports of related concessions by the U.S. government, signal that this great country is willing to fall to its knees and beg for oil — even if it’s coming from our adversaries. In my latest op-ed to the North State Journal, I lay out the case as to why the Biden administration is putting American energy last.

An Important Update

Recently, I signed on as a cosponsor to H.R. 6858, the American Energy Independence from Russia Act, legislation introduced by Representatives Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Bruce Westerman (R-AR) that would require the president to submit an energy security plan to Congress, approves the Keystone XL pipeline, and requires a plan to increase oil and gas production on federal lands. In America, we deserve energy freedom on our own terms – not reliance on known adversaries or autocrats. It’s past time that we unleash our energy capabilities here at home, and not constrain them with unnecessary red tape like what the Biden administration has done for over a year.
