Foxx Report for the Week of January 15, 2018 |
|
One of the fundamental tenets that makes America great is the First Amendment. The First Amendment guarantees that American citizens may practice their faith without fear of persecution. As a life-long defender of communities of faith, I was pleased this week to celebrate the 45th Annual Religious Freedom Day. This day was made possible by our forefathers more than 200 years ago and celebrates the many faiths that help construct the moral fiber of our communities. Advancing the Culture of Life:
The Born Alive Abortion Survivor's Protection Act
As an unapologetic member of the Pro-Life community, I was pleased this week to support H.R. 4712, the Born Alive Abortion Survivor's Protection Act, which guarantees legal protection and medical care for attempted abortion survivors, safeguards mothers from prosecution and holds abortionists accountable. This measure, which passed the House by a bipartisan vote of 241-183, makes meaningful strides toward advancing the culture of life. Additionally, I spoke on the House Floor about this important measure. To view my remarks, please click here:

March for Life
Today marks the 45th annual March for Life – and this year’s March for Life theme, “Love Saves Lives,” truly embodies the spirit of the pro-life movement. More than 2,200 pregnancy centers located throughout the country provide women with life-affirming options, medical testing, ultrasounds and prenatal care. Additionally, these centers offer parenting classes and many offer information about the beautiful option of adoption. To me, the pro-life movement is more than just words. It is love in action every day.
