Christmas will always be one of the most paramount times of the year. It is a time to give thanks, celebrate our blessings, and reflect upon the true meaning of the season: the birth of Jesus Christ. We must never forget that this is a time when we acknowledge the service of others – a hallmark of Christmas. Right now, countless Americans are serving their neighbors, communities, and the country. It is of the utmost importance that we acknowledge these self-sacrificing men and women:

• Doctors

• Farmers

• Members of the Armed Forces

• Nurses

• Paramedics

• Police officers

• Rescue squad members

• Small business owners

• Store clerks

• Truck drivers

• All others who are working and serving during the holiday season

Of course, there are many more people who we recognize individually as well for the hard work and sacrifices they continue to make. The undeniable truth is that we live in the greatest country in the world, and one of the reasons why is because of our commitment to service regardless of the sacrifices that may come. It’s part of who we are as Americans. We should never forget that.
