Foxx Report

The ONLY people who should vote in American elections are American citizens. There should be no debate or question about it. Election integrity remains one of many monumental issues that the American people care about. They deserve to have confidence, not doubt, in our nation’s system of elections. This week, House Republicans advanced the SAVE America Act. This consequential, much-needed piece of legislation would strengthen election integrity across our nation and protect the right of AMERICAN CITIZENS to vote.

The SAVE America Act would implement a series of commonsense safeguards that would strengthen and preserve one of our most sacred rights as an American citizen. These safeguards include:

  • Requiring individuals to present an eligible photo identification document before voting.
  • Requiring states to obtain proof of citizenship – in person – when registering an individual to vote.
  • Requiring states to remove non-citizens from existing voter rolls.

Now, Democrats in Washington continue to argue that the SAVE America Act is designed to suppress voting and to try to rig our system of elections –their claims continue to fall flat on their faces. Americans already need a photo ID to get on a flight, to buy a pack of cigarettes, or to open a bank account. Shouldn’t one of the most important duties we have as citizens – voting –be held to at least the same standard? I certainly believe that to be true, and so do the American people in overwhelming numbers. 83% of Americans are in favor of requiring photo ID to vote. I was very proud to have led this monumental piece of legislation through the Rules Committee earlier this week, and to have voted in favor of it when it came to the House floor.

The January Jobs Report

The American economy is booming, and Republican policies are directly responsible for this spurring positive trajectory. Despite the Democrat attempts to shut parts of the government down, the United States economy grew last month and added 130,000 jobs. The major sectors of the economy that experienced this growth were:

  • Manufacturing
  • Health care
  • Construction
  • Financial

Our Republican trifecta, and the policies we are championing, are helping small businesses, workers, and entrepreneurs achieve the American dream – this continues to be proven true. As President Trump always says, the best is yet to come.

A Piece of American History

The Battle of Yorktown, the final battle of the American Revolution, occurred in Virginia from September 28th to October 19th of 1781. After a three-week engagement between the Continental Army and its French allies, British forces were outgunned, outmanned and surrendered in defeat. This final battle was the precursor to the Treaty of Paris – a negotiation of peace between the United States and Britain that formally ended the American Revolution.
