As freedom-loving Americans, you and I both understand that communism has always proven itself to be a blight upon society everywhere its ugly tentacles reach. It is a failed, flailing, and erosive ideology that should be forever cast into the ash heap of history. Not a single person has ever benefitted from living under the veil of communism, and we know this because tens of millions of innocent men, women, and children have died as a direct result of it. Flip through the pages of history and you will find example after example of despotic regimes that wielded communism as a cudgel against freedom and human flourishing. That’s just the truth – it could not be any clearer.  

It is disgraceful how there has been a resurgence of communism – and even socialism –in America as of late, and we would all do well to heed the lessons that history has taught us all about how dangerous this moment really is. Now I am quite sure that there will be a hoard of people who will hoot and holler that what I’m writing to you is nothing but fearmongering, but they’re dead wrong. I’m equipped, as I always am, with THE FACTS. As John Adams once said, “Facts are stubborn things.”

The so-called “Democratic Socialists of America” (DSA) recently published their updated platform – that reads like an unhinged manifesto from the despots of yesteryear – and detail how they want to fundamentally tear down our constitutional republic brick by brick. And what do they prescribe as their “solutions”? Removing the president altogether, forming a unicameral legislature, , tear down the nation’s borders, grant mass amnesty to everyone who entered our country illegally, overhaul the Supreme Court, and much more. And the cherry on top of all of this is that they claim everything will be free if this agenda is put in place. As Speaker Johnson noted recently, “If they promise you free stuff, there is far more beneath those promises that even some of these people do not understand themselves.”

Here's the takeaway from all of this: America is the last great bastion of freedom in the world, and if communism is allowed to run rampant in this country, that won’t be the case anymore. Any time and any place that communism rears its ugly head, it should be immediately rejected and without discussion. We’re a free nation and all of us are blessed with rights that are God-given – our rights do not come from the government like what those who espouse communism and socialism want us to believe. We cannot allow communism and socialism to upend the order and freedom that has existed here on our shores for 250 years. 

New White House Application

Every year, the White House welcomes talented individuals and organizations from across the country to help celebrate the Christmas season through music, volunteer service, and festive décor. These applications provide a unique opportunity for talented performers to be considered to perform during the White House holiday season and for volunteers to help transform the White House into a welcoming holiday destination for thousands of visitors.

New Scam Alert

In a few short weeks, students across our state will be returning to the classroom for the start of the school year – scammers are already out in full force. The IRS Criminal Investigation Charlotte Field Office is issuing a new warning to students, parents, and educators to be on the lookout for new scams during the lead up to the new school year. Popular scams during this period range from deceptive online websites posing as back to school retailers to scams targeting minors on social media sites and video game platforms. Scammers exploit any and every avenue they can to steal your personal and financial information, and continued diligence remains of paramount importance to protect yourself and the ones you love.
