When Republicans in Washington created the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, the priorities of the American people were interwoven every step of the way. The simple truth is that this law is the embodiment of the America First agenda. It has delivered many wins for millions of American families across our nation ever since it was enacted last summer. Indeed, the results speak for themselves.
Here are just a few examples of how Republicans in Congress delivered for families across the nation through the Working Families Tax Cuts Act:
- We permanently increased and enhanced the Child Tax Credit to $2,200 that will go on to benefit tens of millions of American families across the nation.
- We led the creation of Trump Investment Accounts – that feature a pilot program contribution of $1,000 for children born between Jan. 1, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2028 – that allows families to set their children’s financial futures on a solid footing.
- We increased the Adoption Tax Credit to $17,280 per child, with $5,120 of the credit being refundable in 2026 so low-and middle-income families without a federal income tax liability can benefit.
- We expanded the 529 Education Savings Accounts to serve nearly 55 million K-12 students and over 2.5 million students pursuing postsecondary educational opportunities.
- We formed the Education Freedom Tax Credit, the first-ever tax credit for contributions to provide scholarships to children so they can attend a K-12 school of their choice or to access other education-related necessities.
The proof is in the pudding: the Working Families Tax Cuts Act continues to deliver positive, lasting results for the American people. I’ll continue to highlight the successes of this law in forthcoming newsletters to you, so that you can have the facts.
Some More Information
Last week, I shared with you some recent news from the Institute for Supply Management that highlighted how manufacturing is booming across America thanks to President Trump, Republicans in Congress, and through the Working Families Tax Cuts Act that we passed last year. To add to this news, I’m sharing with you a new document from the National Association of Manufacturers that highlights success stories from across the nation thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts Act. Here’s an excerpt:
This law is a once-in-a-generation investment in manufacturers, and it did not happen by chance. As pro-growth tax policies approached expiration, putting 6 million jobs at risk, manufacturers rallied to make our voices heard. Congress not only kept every one of the 10 major provisions for which the NAM advocated—they even added new provisions, all to strengthen manufacturing.

Unacceptable News
The USPS Office of Inspector General has recently released new and concerning service performance data for the second quarter of 2026. The data shows that North Carolina is ranked 44th in performance – part of the bottom ten states in the nation. This is an issue that I hear about on a regular basis from constituents across the 5th District, and I am equally as incensed. As I have in the past, I invite you to contact my offices if you are experiencing problems with the USPS. I remain very focused on this issue and will not hesitate to the feet of those responsible for this breakdown to the fire.
