Foxx Report

The American people deserve better than the nauseating hand they were dealt by both the Biden administration and One Party Rule. Since late last year, I have made it a point to routinely update you on the tenets of House Republicans’ plan, the Commitment to America, and how we are routinely delivering concrete wins for every American. As you will see in what I’m about to share, the promises we have made continue to ladder up to real results. Allow me to lay out a few pertinent points that you need to know.

Thus far, House Republicans have held the Biden administration accountable via:

  • Conducting 631 total hearings.
  • Compelling testimony from Biden officials 619 times.
  • Sending a total of 917 oversight letters.
  • Issuing 45 subpoenas.

From supporting our nation’s armed forces to safeguarding the rights of parents, we have passed 51 pieces of legislation that correspond with the four tents of our Commitment to America. The breakdown of these pieces of legislation is as follows:

An Economy That’s Strong: 5 Bills Passed

A Nation That’s Safe: 14 Bills Passed

A Future That’s Built On Freedom: 5 Bills Passed

A Government That’s Accountable: 27 Bills Passed

Our work is far from over. In the coming months, House Republicans will continue to put forth and pass legislation that’s in direct alignment with our commitment to America. As I have said previously, we made promises, and we have kept them. You can rest assured that we will continue to follow through.

My Latest Letter

Recent reports indicate the Department of Education is blocking funding for hunting and archery education activities for students under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). In doing so, opportunities for millions of American students to learn safe and responsible firearm handling, lessons about the recreational shooting sports, and experience outdoor recreation would be eliminated. In response, I co-led a letter to Education Secretary Miguel Cardona, alongside Representative Elise Stefanik and Representative Richard Hudson, condemning this decision. The withholding of authorized federal funding of these programs with longstanding bipartisan support flies in the face of congressional intent and will harm students and communities across the country.

The Purple Heart

On Wednesday, I was proud to present United States Army Sergeant LeRoy Lewis Watkins with the Purple Heart Medal for his service to our great nation. His selfless sacrifices – as well as those made by countless other brave patriots – deserve to be both recognized and revered. Assisting our nation’s veterans is a solemn responsibility that I take very seriously – my dedicated staff is always standing at the ready to help. In addition to helping residents of North Carolina’s 5th District navigate the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, my offices can assist veterans with replacing military medals that have been lost or stolen as well as obtaining medals that still need to be presented.
