Foxx Report

The influence peddling schemes of the Biden family have been carefully documented by House Republicans over the past year – we have followed the facts and the money. In September, we launched a formal impeachment inquiry into President Biden to deliver the accountability and transparency that the American people so deserve. This week, we took an additional and necessary step in our work to hold him accountable. Take a look.

On Wednesday, House Republicans passed H.Res.918, which directs the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, House Judiciary Committee, and the House Ways and Means Committee to continue their ongoing investigations as part of the existing House of Representatives inquiry. I was proud to cast my vote in favor of H.Res.918. Through this resolution, we can further examine evidence and determine whether sufficient grounds exist for the House of Representatives to exercise its Constitutional power to impeach President Biden. What’s more, this resolution sets forth specific procedures related to the impeachment inquiry and enacts formal changes to the process that can help remove legal ambiguities and provide further transparency to the American people.

H.Res.918, as outlined by the House Committee on Rules, serves as a mechanism to:

  • Uphold a clear process.
  • Assert constitutional authority.
  • Ensure transparency.
  • Maintain precedent.
  • Confront obstruction.
  • Follow the facts.

The impeachment inquiry into President Biden is a necessary step towards uncovering the truth – just like the process that is currently underway to expose Secretary Mayorkas’ dereliction of duty at the southern border. I support both efforts through regular order. Impeachment is not done lightly, but it must be done right. We will not be deterred from uncovering the truth and holding this administration accountable.

A Bipartisan Win

On Monday, the House passed landmark bipartisan legislation, the Lower Costs, More Transparency Act, to lower the cost of health care and increase price transparency for patients. I was pleased to lead this legislation alongside House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), and House Ways and Means Committee Chair Jason Smith (R-MO). The Lower Costs, More Transparency Act is all about empowering patients and their families. Every patient should be able to navigate the health care market with ease. This bill makes that vision a reality by building on the success of the Trump administration’s price transparency rules for plans and hospitals, making PBM activities more transparent, and ensuring employers have the information they need to make smart choices on behalf of their employees.

New Scam Alert

Christmas is nine days away, and many are still purchasing gifts for their family members and loved ones. Unfortunately, during this time of year, scammers are out in full force. The North Carolina Department of Justice (NCDOJ) recently released a consumer alert with information on how to protect your information when shopping online, and how to spot potential scams. Even the most minor of details are important to pay attention to online, and it’s important that you’re equipped with the facts.

Quote of The Week

“I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts.”

-Abraham Lincoln
