Hunter Biden has nowhere to run – accountability is here. On Wednesday, I attended his scheduled deposition before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability as well as the House Committee on the Judiciary as part of House Republicans’ ongoing impeachment inquiry into President Biden. This deposition comes after several transcribed interviews with members of the Biden family, as well as other individuals who have ties to the Biden family’s influence peddling schemes. The interviews that have been conducted thus far have uncovered Joe Biden’s involvement in, and his benefit from, his family’s schemes.

Make no mistake, the deposition of Hunter Biden does not mark the end of our impeachment inquiry – it is another step in our efforts to follow the facts and evidence where they may lead. As you may recall in my newsletter to you on December 22nd of last year, I shared the tactics that Hunter Biden used to evade accountability and the lawful subpoenas that were issued to him. Instead of appearing for his initially scheduled deposition before the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees, he chose obstruction and decided to hold an impromptu press conference in front of the Capitol. However, this is not the first time we have seen obstruction during our impeachment inquiry proceedings.

Since the beginning of 2023, we have both obtained and reviewed thousands of pages of financial records, text messages, emails, and witness testimony that have uncovered the depth of the Biden family’s corruption. During this entire process, we have faced continued obstruction from both the White House and Department of Justice as we seek to obtain documents relevant to our investigation. These documents are tied to conversations that then-Vice President Biden had in relation to Hunter Biden’s board role at Burisma, an energy holdings company. Despite this continued obstruction, we are not backing down.

Simply put, we have a duty to provide the level of accountability and transparency that the American people deserve. We will continue to work to achieve that end. Our impeachment inquiry will continue to follow the facts every step of the way. As we move forward, I will continue to share important details of our efforts with you.

Supporting Our Farmers

America’s dedicated farmers, and the nation’s entire agricultural community, are facing a serious threat. That threat is the Chinese Communist Party’s continued purchasing of American farmland. Here’s the truth: the Chinese Communist Party has absolutely no interest in supporting our nation’s food supply. It cares only about improving its own bottom line while knee-capping a community that has always put food on the tables of families in every zip code in America. On Wednesday, I spoke on the House floor on how I’m working to put our nation’s farmers FIRST.

An Important Roundtable

On Thursday, the Education and Workforce Committee held a bipartisan roundtable to hear from Jewish students from nine universities about their experiences with antisemitism on their campuses. These students are dealing with antisemitism at their respective universities daily. Their courage to speak out and share their stories will give the American people a new look at what is truly happening on college campuses around the country. This roundtable will help inform the Committee’s next steps in the antisemitism investigation as it continues to hold postsecondary education accountable for rampant antisemitism.
