When will Democrats learn that hardworking Americans do not want their tax dollars being spent on health care for illegal aliens? Today marks the tenth straight day of the Democrat-led government shutdown, and Republicans in both the People’s House and the U.S. Senate continue to call out the avalanche of deception coming from our colleagues on the other side of the aisle. Let me be crystal clear: the House has already done its job by passing a clean, nonpartisan, short-term continuing resolution (CR). Democrats are picking a partisan, political fight over WHAT IS NOT within the CR – they’ve already voted in favor of 13 almost identical CRs under President Biden. Their logic, like all their arguments, is entirely flimsy.

While Democrats choose obstruction and refuse to open the government, they’re causing serious damage across the entire nation. Here are a few examples, per the White House, to illustrate this:

• All 50 states will experience a devastating economic hit.
  
• Each week the shutdown is extended, it will wipe out an estimated $15 billion in U.S. GDP.
• Servicemembers will go without pay.
  
• Air traffic controllers, Border Patrol, Coast Guard crews, federal firefighters, FBI agents, and millions of Americans who protect our nation are being forced to work without pay.
  
• Veteran career counseling, GI Bill Hotline, VA benefits regional offices, public affairs outreach, headstone placement, pre-need burial applications, and presidential memorial certificates will be impacted.

Here’s the bottom line: House Republicans voted to keep the government open and working for the American people while Democrats chose to take the People’s government hostage and will only relent if their ransom demands are met. It’s time for the political games to end – it’s time for Senate Democrats to grow a spine and vote for the House-passed CR. Otherwise, they will inflict even more damage to hardworking Americans and the entire nation.

A Historic Agreement

Blessed are the peacemakers. On Wednesday, a significant peace agreement, brokered by President Trump, was made between the State of Israel and Hamas. This new agreement has undeniably opened the door for peace within the middle east – we certainly have President Trump to thank for his continued, diligent efforts. Israeli families have suffered immeasurable grief in the past two years from the carnage and heinous atrocities that occurred on October 7, 2023. They deserve a sense of peace and healing – they also deserve to be reunited with their loved ones immediately. I pray that this agreement will bring a long lasting, always sought for, peace for the Jewish people –harmony must be returned to their daily lives.

A Piece of American History

On July 6^th, 1775, Thomas Jefferson and John Dickinson, known as “The Penman of the Revolution”, drafted The Causes and Necessity of Taking Up Arms. To put it simply, this declaration was a rallying call to the colonies. It put forth the argument as to why British tyranny could not stand any longer, and why the defense of the rights of the colonies was of paramount importance. Undue taxation, military aggression, and a violation of rights were three key grievances outlined in this document.
