FROM THE DESK OF CONGRESSWOMAN VIRGINIA FOXX 5th DISTRICT OF NORTH CAROLINA |
Dear Friends, On April 15th – yes, Tax Day – I would like to invite you to take part in a telephone town hall meeting to discuss topics such as federal taxes, spending, and the recent House Republican Path to Prosperity balanced budget proposal which will begin the work of getting our country out of debt. It is always a pleasure to hear directly from the people I represent about their concerns and ideas to shrink the size of Washington’s footprint in their lives so that families and small businesses can thrive. This telephone town hall meeting provides a chance to have one such conversation. Here are the details if you would like to take part in the call: What: “Tax Day” Telephone Town Hall Meeting This time of year, families like yours from across North Carolina are confronting the complexity of the federal tax code firsthand. With all that Washington takes from North Carolinians, we have a right to demand accountability for how our money is spent. We also have an interest in seeing our government, and its tax code, modernized and simplified to encourage job growth and ensure fewer dollars are wasted padding outdated bureaucracies. Our conversation on April 15th will cover these topics and more. My hope is that you and your family will consider taking part in the April 15th discussion. I would very much like to hear your thoughts on the financial health and well-being of this country and what we can do together to leave the next generation of Americans a country stronger and more prosperous than the one we inherited. Remember, if you would like to take part in the telephone town hall on April 15th, please call 1-888-409-4380 at 5:30 p.m. You may also RSVP to receive an event reminder by visiting my website, www.Foxx.House.gov/townhall. Thank you. It is a pleasure serving as your representative in Congress.
