The sheer ruin that crippled the nation across the board under the previous administration caused incalculable damage to small businesses, entrepreneurs, hardworking taxpayers, and families in every zip code. There is no dispute whatsoever about that. Thankfully, the trajectory of the nation is far better with Republicans policies being enacted – we’re on our way to restoring America and working to unleash prosperity every step of the way. Just last week, we secured yet another massive win that I’m proud to tell you about today. 

Republicans in the People’s House unlocked the next step in creating President Trump’s Big, Beautiful Bill by adopting the final version of our budget resolution that was sent back to us by the U.S. Senate. Now, what does the final passage of the budget resolution mean, and what does it look like? To put it very simply, committees in the House and Senate can now work together to craft their respective parts of the President’s bill that will:

• Slash waste, fraud, and abuse.
• Secure the border.
• Protect Americans from the largest tax increase in history.
• Restore American energy dominance.
• Support the common defense of the nation.

As the Chair of the House Committee on Rules, I’m extremely pleased to have played a part, alongside my Republican colleagues on the Committee, in helping advance this legislation to the floor for a full vote. In addition, I led the debate on this legislation on the House floor and called out the myriad of falsehoods that had been spun up for months by Washington Democrats and their bedfellows within the mainstream media. As I said on the floor last week, Republicans are done playing defense. We’re leading, fighting, and winning for the American people – and we will continue to do so. As committees in the House and Senate begin their work, I look forward to updating you further on our efforts to get the nation back on the path to prosperity where it belongs. 

An Interesting Read

Recently, the Washington Examiner published an important article detailing how the bipartisan Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, that the House passed last week, works to protect the integrity of American elections. Even before the SAVE Act passed, Washington Democrats conjured up a tidal wave of misinformation to distort the truth about what this legislation does. Hillary Clinton claimed this legislation is a “voter suppression measure” and others have said it will deny women the ability to vote. These claims are flat out false, and the facts always prevail.

Two Lanterns

A recent article in the Carolina Journal caught my attention this week, and I want to share it with you. Tonight, Americans across the nation will hang two lanterns on their front porches to commemorate the famous ride of Paul Revere. While we do celebrate Independence Day and many other important dates in our nation’s history, Paul Revere’s overnight ride that began on the night of April 18, 1775, is a significant moment in our nation’s history that deserves to be celebrated as well. If patriots like Paul Revere did not take decisive action in the ways they did, we would not be the nation we are today.
