FOXX ACTS TO PROTECT CHILDREN FROM SEX OFFENDERS

Today, United States Rep. Virginia Foxx (N.C.-5) voted to pass the Children’s Safety and Violent Crime Reduction Act of 2006, which will help prevent the sexual abuse and exploitation of children.

Virginia Foxx (N.C.-5) voted to pass the Children’s Safety and Violent Crime Reduction Act of 2006, which will help prevent the sexual abuse and exploitation of children. “Sexual predators prey upon our most innocent and defenseless citizens and we have a basic duty to protect our children from these criminals,” said Rep. Foxx. “I am pleased that the Children’s Safety and Violent Crime Reduction Act will strengthen notification requirements for sex offenders and increase criminal penalties for those who commit these unthinkable acts. Their presence and criminal history should be made known to all.” Today’s legislation includes common sense provisions that will further protect our children from harm including measures to:
