The Mt. Airy News WASHINGTON — United States Rep. Virginia Foxx (N.C.-5th District) voted Thursday for H.R. 1220, the Veterans’ Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act. This bill remedies an accounting error at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs that would have caused veterans to lose nearly $1 billion in benefits. “I am proud to stand behind our nation’s veterans and ensure they receive the health-care benefits they earned while selflessly serving our country,” said Foxx. “After fighting to defend our freedom, they deserve nothing less.” |
