WSJS Radio Written by Smith Patterson/David Horn Fifth District Congresswoman Virginia Foxx said she and the new Republican Majority in the U.S. House are ready to flex their muscle after they are sworn into office on Wednesday. She said the GOP will take charge of the 112th Congress and make sweeping changes including the reduction of spending and to repeal last year's Health Care reform Act. The health care law is expected to be brought up next week. Foxx said she thinks repeal will pass muster in the House with bipartisan support, but she does not think Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will let in come to a vote in the upper chamber. Foxx also said she and the Republican Majority will do things differently. "We're promising that the American people are going to know what's in the bills before they get passed and member are going to know what's in the bills before they get passed, because the bills are going to be posted on-line and we will all have copies of them 72 hours before they're voted on," said Foxx. |
