Before any military action is pursued in Syria, there must be zero doubt that engaging the United States military and our resources is essential to America’s national security interests.
Congresswoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) today issued the following statement on the ongoing Congressional debate over authorizing President Obama's proposed military engagement in Syria:
"Before any military action is pursued in Syria, there must be zero doubt that engaging the United States military and our resources is essential to America’s national security interests. As debate over that question continues prior to the upcoming vote on authorization, I will be looking for the President to offer evidence to support his belief that America’s national security is best served by initiating his proposed military involvement. However, at this point, I remain unconvinced." # # #
