Foxx Statement on FCC Vote to Impose New Net Neutrality Regulations
Washington,
February 27, 2015
Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-N.C., today released the following statement on the Federal Communications Commission’s decision to regulate broadband providers as public utilities:
“This attempt by the FCC to regulate broadband providers is yet another example of Obama appointees overstepping the bounds of the statutory authority granted to them by Congress. These excessive regulations will only lead to uncertainty and expensive legal fights, stifling innovation and undermining our economy.” U.S. Rep. Virginia Foxx represents North Carolina’s 5th Congressional District and is the elected Republican Conference Secretary. Dr. Foxx is the chair of the House Education and the Workforce Subcommittee on Higher Education and serves as Vice Chair of the House Rules Committee. |
