Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Virginia Foxx (R-NC) issued the following statement on the historic peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

“After almost half a century, the United Arab Emirates and Israel will fully formalize diplomatic relations and usher in a new era of peace and prosperity within the Middle East. This diplomatic breakthrough lays the groundwork for novel scientific advancements, new avenues to expand global trade capabilities, alliances between those of the Muslim, Jewish, and Christian faiths throughout the region, and many more critical advancements that will impact millions of people.

“Today, we take another step forward not only as a country, but as an ally to our Middle Eastern counterparts. During my time in Congress, my support for Israel, and its recognition by governments on an international scale, has been unwavering. Though the United States, Israel, and the UAE face respective challenges, I firmly believe that this partnership will serve as a catalyst for economic and societal growth. I applaud President Trump, Prime Minister Netanyahu and Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for their dedication to peace within the region and ensuring that diplomatic relations are not only strengthened, but also sustained for generations to come.”
