WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representative Virginia Foxx (R-NC) issued the following statement on the Delivering For America Act:

“Speaker Pelosi has now decided that promoting a deranged conspiracy theory about the Postal Service is more important than addressing the pressing needs of the American people. This is the type of asinine agenda that erodes the integrity of the People’s House and fractures the country. Democrats are so desperate to undermine President Trump that they now believe that peddling fear will turn the tide in their favor.

“The United States Postal Service needs comprehensive reform and not a $25 billion cash injection on top of the billions of dollars it already received through the CARES Act. Speaker Pelosi has made this legislation her top priority, and she’s abandoned bipartisan input and extensive committee review in the process. Passing the so-called Delivering For America Act is a slapdash endeavor coming from Speaker Pelosi, and you can only wonder if she’ll apply that same level of urgency to working alongside Republicans in relief package negotiations. She has not thus far, and it is unlikely that she will in the future.

“This new scheme is just another chapter that can be filed away as part of the Democrat impeachment saga, and it comes as no surprise that Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats have turned their backs on the American people yet again.”
