Foxx Issues Statement On Passage of The Coronavirus Relief Package
Washington,
December 21, 2020
Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Virginia Foxx (R-NC) issued the following statement on the passage of a new Coronavirus relief package: “For months, Speaker Pelosi and her Democrat colleagues orchestrated an unprecedented blockade that pushed the livelihoods of the American people to near extinction. It’s even more damning that she purposely stonewalled relief negotiations so that her partisan demands would be met. “The actions of Democrat members of Congress are reprehensible, and frankly, they’re an affront to the millions of people who are struggling to make ends meet every day. Small businesses, families, and workers pleaded for relief, and their voices were ignored more than 40 times when Democrats chose to block targeted relief efforts. “At a moment when the country is grappling with the economic and health effects of this virus, Nancy Pelosi has acted more as an impediment than as a leader. There is no doubt that her inaction, as well as the inaction of her Democrat members, is a stain upon the People’s House, and one that will set a dangerous and costly precedent for this great body.” ### U.S. Rep. Virginia Foxx represents North Carolina’s 5th Congressional District and is the Republican Leader of the House Committee on Education and Labor. |
