WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representative Virginia Foxx (R-NC) issued the following statement on her cosponsorship of the RETURN our Constitutional Rights Act of 2022:

“The Second Amendment was explicitly designed to protect our God-given right of keeping and bearing arms from undue infringement by the federal government. One infringement currently in place is in the form of excise taxes levied on manufacturers of firearms and ammunition. I’m proud to sign on as an original cosponsor of Representative Andrew Clyde’s RETURN our Constitutional Rights Act of 2022, legislation that would eliminate these excise taxes in their entirety. When the federal government weaponizes taxation, the rights of Americans come under threat, and this legislation acts as a bulwark to further protect us.”
