WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representative Virginia Foxx (R-NC) issued the following statement on the passage of the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act”:

“The so-called ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ is nothing more than one last desperate Hail Mary attempt to socially engineer America before the midterm elections. This bill is the radical ‘Build Back Better’ agenda in sheep’s clothing. Increased taxes that will stoke inflationary pressures, coupled with more reckless spending, are not the imperatives of families and hardworking taxpayers – neither is the addition of 87,000 IRS agents, which would make the IRS larger than the Pentagon, State Department, FBI, and Border Patrol combined.

“People want relief from the gas pump to the grocery store, but all they’re getting is Washington breaking their backs and wallets yet again.”
