U.S. Representative Virginia Foxx Visits Everest College Santa AnaPosted on September 27, 2013 Congresswoman Virginia Foxx recently toured Corinthian’s Everest College campus in Santa Ana, California to learn more about its programs, students, faculty and facilities. Rep. Foxx is serving her fifth term as the Representative of North Carolina’s 5th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. She is the chair of the House Education and the Workforce Subcommittee on Higher Education.
During her campus visit, Rep. Foxx talked with several students about their experiences at Everest, toured classrooms, and met with administrators from the admissions department and career services division. Everest College Santa Ana specializes in training for careers in healthcare, including medical assistant, massage therapy and pharmacy technician, so much of the discussions focused on the healthcare sector.
The learning facilities that Rep. Foxx toured do not resemble traditional college classrooms with desks, chairs and chalk boards. Everest classrooms are interactive labs containing equipment that helps students put their knowledge into action in an environment that resembles the workplaces they will enter upon graduation.
Everest College also provides students with career placement services that involve much more than simply directing students to a list of job announcements. Our staff helps students make the transition from student to professional by showing them how to navigate the job market and make a good impression on prospective employers through effective résumé writing and interviewing.
We are grateful to Representative Foxx for taking time from her busy schedule to visit our campus and see first-hand the kind of learning environment that Everest College provides.
