Kline, Foxx to Obama administration: You took too long on WIOABy Marianne LeVine, PoliticoPro

House Education and the Workforce Committee Chair John Kline (R-Minn.) and Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) said today that the Obama administration took too long to implement bipartisan legislation to modernize job training.
In joint statement, the lawmakers said that although workers "will finally have the opportunity to enjoy all the benefits of a modern workforce development system ... it's a shame that it has taken this long for the administration to do its job and implement these critical reforms." The Labor and Education Departments today issued a joint rule that provides guidance to states for their workforce development plans, elaborates on performance accountability measures, and updates requirements for so-called "one-stop centers" that provide training referrals and career counseling. The agencies also issued separate regulations updating their own training and education programs that fall under the legislation. https://www.politicopro.com/labor-employment/whiteboard/2016/06/kline-foxx-to-obama-administration-you-took-too-long-on-wioa-074112 |
