Every American Should be Exempted from Obamacare Mandates

Obamacare is a bad law, but it is a bad law President Obama asked for. And it’s a bad law he, as mastermind and chief enforcer, must obey – unless Congress authorizes a change. Today House Republicans voted to give the President the authority to delay the implementation of Obamacare’s employer mandate – something his Administration wants to do. But House Republicans went a step further. If businesses are getting a break from the President’s law, individual Americans should too.

Meadows Hosts Field Hearing in Bakersville on Mine Safety and Health Administration Regulations

Congresswoman Virginia Foxx (NC-05) praised the hearing. “Congressman Mark Meadows is wise to call this timely hearing examining the impact of federal Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations on employee safety and individual North Carolina mines,” Foxx said in a statement. “A strong relationship between the mining industry and the federal MSHA, grounded in sensible standards and effective regulations, is necessary to ensure mine safety is maintained and industry growth unimpeded.”

"From the beginning, Speaker [John] Boehner has made it clear we were going to put a strong emphasis on oversight and we have done that," Foxx said. "Oversight is something we care about when it comes to any government agency and we will continue to pursue this as a policy."
